Essentially, Bay of Quinte offers more than the sum of its parts:

Vital location

Bay of Quinte is on the northern shore of Lake Ontario, east of Toronto. It embraces rich agricultural land and small, medium and large communities, including Brighton and the cities of Belleville and Quinte West (Trenton).

Open transport

Highway 401, which links Québec City with Windsor/Detroit, runs through Bay of Quinte. A well-developed network of secondary highways connects its communities with markets in Northern Ontario and the West, as well as with markets in Eastern Ontario such as Ottawa, those in Québec such as Montréal, and the huge markets of the Northern United States.

Bay of Quinte is also well served by express passenger and freight rail service-and has access to international and domestic air transport outside both its western and eastern borders.

Dedicated workforce

Of Bay of Quinte's 101,771 residents, more than 93,000 make on-the-job use of their mechanical, industrial, technical, computer or other skills. A strong work ethic, low turnover and little absenteeism decrease Bay of Quinte's low labour costs.

Up-to-date skills

Customized employee training programs, available to manufacturing and professional firms, help make Bay of Quinte attractive. And Service Canada supports the labour force by subsidizing employee training and wages.

To prepare our citizens for their work, we proudly support our fine primary and high schools, and high-quality college and corporate training facilities. And we have nearby access to three exceptional Canadian universities, Queen's University, Trent University and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.

Low-cost utilities and taxes

The prices of utilities and taxes are an ongoing source of competitive advantage enjoyed by the many companies operating in Bay of Quinte.

Superb quality of life

The Bay of Quinte lifestyle has few parallels. Here, you find the relaxed atmosphere of a small city or rural area-and the first-class amenities of a much larger centre. Recreation options range from sunning or swimming at one of our beaches, through boating, walking or skiing, to playing golf.
