Quinte West Medical Centre
Quinte West, Ontario
(613) 394-0770
http://www.city.quintewest.on.ca/qwmc.htm

To meet the primary health care needs now and in the future, the Quinte West community initiated the development of the Quinte West Medical Centre. One of the key components of the strategy is to attract and retain primary care physicians to our community.  The Centre operates as an independent non-profit corporation run by a volunteer Board of Directors that ensures proper representation from the Community.  The Centre is conveniently located behind Quinte Health Care Trenton Memorial Hospital occupying 4,500 square feet on the lower level of the Trenton Memorial Lodge. This provides space for up to five (full time equivalent) doctors operating in a multi physician primary care practice environment. Currently there is one family physician and two qualified support staff who officially opened the doors to the centre in October 2004. The QWMC is currently looking for and recruiting additional family doctors.  This Quinte West initiative is supported by the community, hospital, and city as well as being strongly endorsed by our local physicians group. The Quinte West Medical Centre is a turnkey operation.
